But EOS already counts how many packages are available for the update. ![]()
Can you show me where/how
? I have been using EOS for way over two years now and I never noticed…
It comes setup by default, I think it can be accessed through the welcome app. I removed this program long ago however as I don’t use it

Discovered and Bailed On:
Mullvad Browser. Handsome and designed to be used independent of the VPN they want you to buy. But my FF is dialed in tight and Libre Wolf does heavier lifting than Mullvad. Not sure what niche it is supposed to fill. I tried it for about a month, tried to use it every other day. but it was just a minute here, minute there but overall Meh.
This tool has been around since 2000, I only came across it today
Found it on linuxnews.de
Found this simple Music Player and Music Library Manager called mpz. It’s not very customisable other than hiding parts of the interface you don’t need, but it does everything I need it to. It has qt5 and qt6 variants.
I’m going to give it a try.
Micro - a much better terminal-based text editor than Nano, that for the most part, feels like a GUI text editor.
Pantheon Code - like Geany, but with a more user-friendly/intuitive search, while being equally fast to launch, with most of the same features, like opening an entire folder in the side panel. It can actually open separate sets of folder trees, like opening .config and /etc/ at the same time.
PS: No, the Pantheon DE is not a requirement for Pantheon Code. ![]()
Mindstream is a nice looking todo list app for Android that supports todo.txt format. I use that on my phone and Sleek on Linux and sync the todo.txt with Syncthing.
As far as I know this was never answered with a satisfactory response by anyone from Obsidian.
Obsidian and Electron Security Question
For this reason I only use Obsidian for technical/linux tidbits; nothing personal or sensitive.
Following the link chain it looks like the electron security issue you are talking about is
https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2018-1000136
which should be resolved now. Correct me if I am wrong.
Trying to extend my school based coding skills I gathered in the 90s
, therefore I “discovered” git to actually manage my little coding projects. In the past I only used git for cloning repositories of other developers to install software for usage. ![]()

vrms-arch — A virtual Richard M. Stallman to tell you which non-free packages are installed.
Image viewer inside a terminal, it uses ueberzug, so not limited to terminals compatible with libsixel or kitty image protocol only.
I was looking for simple dmenu replacement for Wayland and I found Tofi. Config file is very simple and it is easy to make look good if you prefer minimal look.
Small steps usually make the biggest difference in my experience.
I started using (neo)vim about a year ago and I can’t ever think of going back to a fullblown IDE again. It’s the exact same thing - a program to write text (code) in. The difference is gargantuan though.
