What application have you recently discovered?

Yes, it’s great that it is back in the new shape and so far I have used it, it works very good.

For now, it seems to be a one-man project. Hopefully @uazo will have the will, motivation and stamina to carry on and who knows perhaps other contributors will eventually join in.

I spent some time playing with it recently but it seemed not quite ready to me.

I will check it out again in the future.

I haven’t tried all, or really most of these but I plan on doing so when I get the chance, but I figured some of these may be of use to some of you? ദ്ദി(៸៸›ᴗ‹៸៸ )

Thanks for the mention. Just tested Localsend, and it’s very good. I already uninstalled GSconnect, once it’s not running on Gnome 45.

You’re welcome!
I’m running Plasma, so KDEConnect is a must have.
Localsend is one extremly fast and already encrypted filetransfer

Broot: A better way to navigate directories
Get an overview of a directory, even a big one

e.g.:

  1. Open a terminal
  2. Hit br -s
  3. type a few letters
  4. Hit altenter and you’re back to the terminal in the desired location.

“This way, you can navigate to a directory with the minimum amount of keystrokes, even if you don’t exactly remember where it is.”

Does it count when you make the app in question? is that discovery?

Using it for long time. More specifically, since I put the first lineage on my Samsung s4 mini

I’ve been using it for last 6-7 years.
FlorisBoard (FB) has some potential as a modern keyboard, even GrapheneOS contributed for their own requirements but development stalled last year. The developer made a recent announcement about the future of it. I’m really hopeful about FB until then I’ll stick to ASK.

You can try other android FOSS keyboards we listed here. Among them FlorisBoard still the best as per my experience.

Is there any documentation how to create an own custom layout for any of them?

https://github.com/florisboard/florisboard/wiki/Using-the-new-Theme-Editor but not valid anymore beginning from 0.3.14-beta09 and greater. Also IIRC the old themes are not compatiable with new ones so not worth for the effort. Wiki needs to be updated.
Lot of things are planned, let’s see how it goes…
