Want to experiment with Lightdm slick greeter?

That was the lightdm-gtk-greeter on EndeavourOS ARM with XFCE4 for the DE.
Although at the lightdm greeter screen, it makes no difference what the DE is.

It’s hard to know sometimes.

@Pudge

I again used this just now on EndeavourOS Mate & it worked like a charm as it did on vanilla Arch/Xfce. Thank you!

Thank you so much :love_you_gesture: After installing slick greeter all I had was a black background, but your guide has helped me fix it, much appreciated!

Not sure if this is possible or not, would it be possible to have 5 or 6 random pictures and it randomly selects a picture on boot? Instead of the same picture? :thinking:

It might be possible to swap the backgrounds “behind its back” so to speak - by, for instance, copying a different picture to the path/filename that the greeter is looking for. A simple script to do so, selecting randomly from a list to copy from.

Linux almost always has a way, if not a feature!

Coming from Mint, I did like the slick greeter and I have it set up on EOS as an alternate. I do like the way you can reposition the login box on the GTK greeter though. Wish I could do that with the slick greeter as well.

Go to duckduckgo and type in
lightdm slick greeter
Four of the first 6 images are from this Topic.
