I never saw that coming - VMware workstation and VMware Fusion free for everyone (including commercial)
It is still not opensource - yet - who knows what will come - and officially unsupported on Manjaro.
Broadcom will not be taken support tickets either but refer to existing documentation and community support.
Guess free comes with a price - in this case - figure it out - don’t expect us to do it for you.

Hey can’t legitimately complain with the shear quality of there software over that of others.
This has been free now for a while. I’ve been using vm-ware workstation pro for a long time.

VMware Player - part of the package you build from AUR - has always been free for anyone to use.
Workstation Pro however had a trial period - after which a license key had to be entered.

I have used VMware Wokstation Pro for several years. I even purchased a license at that time. But I have moved away from it and migrated all my VMs to kvm. This was easy and I am happy that even my Windows11 is now running just fine with kvm.
I think @ricklinux might be eluding to the fact that the announcement about VMware Workstation Pro being free was made many months ago. Back in May, in fact.
There were a couple threads about that here in the EOS forums back in May:
VMWare announced that they are no longer charging for Workstation Pro for personal use.
I moved from virtualbox to vmware about two years ago. The main reason was the better performance of vmware with regard to graphics output (3D, directx, opengl, etc.). My windows11 guest in vmware runs as if it was a native windows installation. Much smoother than with virtualbox.
I even purchased vmware workstation pro at that time. But now, with the takeover of vmware by broadcom, they made it free for private use just a few days ago:
The AUR package is called: vmware-workstation
