I just wanted to see what drivers you had installed for Nvidia. I run kde and no issues. Is it konsole opening slow? Or is it the updating that is slow to start?
Edit: What other software have you installed on kde?
nvidia-dkms, v-box-dkms … konsole opens fast also a direct update command works fast
I only see the delay when I click UpdateInTerminal, the issue started about 3 days ago
@cluster
There is an eos-downgrade package that enables you to downgrade eos packages from the eos repo. You could install it and downgrade the welcome package and see if that makes any difference? I don’t know the reason why this would be happening otherwise?
only germany was selected, I have added belgium, france and downgraded welcome to 3.17.31-1 afterwards, so far no improvement …
p.s.
the delay is also noticeable when opening welcome
I experience this on Cinnamon as well, with intel drivers for graphics. It’s the opening of the terminal from the Welcome app that is slow for me. If I open a terminal from the Taskbar then it’s fast. I don’t think it’s mirrors that is the problem because if i run paru manually it also goes fast.
Hmm, I can’t replicate the issue either on Plasma and Xfce (both bare metal installs) but I don’t have Nvidia onboard. Perhaps @manuel can shed some light on this?
But @ricklinux and I don’t have that delay the others described, the terminal (and welcome) opens immediately.
They are talking about the opening of the terminal window, not the update process itself.
