Unable to install

I’m trying to clean install Endeavour OS after an issue with the previous installation.

I don’t care about the data on this computer as it’s new so I selected erase drive when given the option in the installer and got a “can’t create new partition” error, so I tried to remove the old Endeavour OS partition using gparted and started the launcher again, it then gave me a pacman install error at 12% tried rebooting and got the same partition error. I’m using the Endeavour Neo ISO from ventoy USB tried both online and offline install and I can’t share logs for some reason from the launcher either.

I won’t be able to go on the PC for today so I’ll respond tomorrow and try to get some logs or just write them down manually.

A couple of things here EndeavourOS has a new ISO available here

second make sure you update ventoy before trying to install from it.

Have you tried selecting mirrors first?
Pacman install error, have you checked to see if you had a Internet connection?
Try a ping from the terminal.

ping -c 4 8.8.8.8

@Mecha-Godzilla

Welcome to the EndeavourOS forum. I hope you enjoy your time here.

I will go one step further. Ventoy has been known to be rather flakey with Archlinux.
Save yourself some grief and use something other than Ventoy. I cannot tell you how many times a Topic has started with the line, “I installed EndeavourOS using Ventoy”.

Thank you both, I’ll make a new USB to boot from tomorrow and see if that works.

I know I have internet access because I was able to connect to it and use firefox through the live boot and I made sure the mirrors were all good. I doubt it’s related to this but thank you.

Thank you this helped. I kept Ventoy (I would’ve gone to Rufus if it didn’t work) and installed the new ISO Mercury perfectly. I’ll mark this as solved. Thanks to everyone who helped me, hope you all have a nice day!
