Timeshift and timeshift-autosnapd not allowing updates

I’m still learning command lines, so bare with me. After trying to update using the terminal script system, pacman, and yay, I still get the same timeshift problem:

seems timeshift-autosnap setup needs a review?

And please if you want to post long logs use codedags or hide-details feature from the editor!

I still have the problem. I disabled Timeshift backups and still have the problem.

This reminds me of an issue with Timeshift from quite some time ago:

I tried removing timeshift with my still-learning how to use the terminal with pacman but it had too many dependencies

In the meantime, I can’t update my system. I’m very uncomfortable with that one.

If you want to remove timeshift you can use:

sudo pacman -Rc timeshift

That will remove timeshift and the things that depend on it but nothing else.

Curioser, curioser. I get this:

When I run Timeshift, it shows up as Live USB mode. Restore Only

Did you install timeshift-bin? If so try:

sudo pacman -Rc timeshift-bin

Alternatively, just remove timeshift-autosnap which is what is actually getting in the way.

sudo pacman -Rc timeshift-autosnap
