I thought I might share that the Youtube Channel The Linux Experiment was taken down by Youtube due to a giveaway he was doing in one of his videos. Chris Titus did a video which talks about the issue:

Personally Iā€™ve watched Nicks steady improvements in his video creation and encouraging people to not only try Linux but how to solution it to do many daily tasks. Iā€™d like to think besides many of the Antergos, Manjaro and EndeavourOS community users who helped me learn the Arch Linux Platform. People like Nick assisted me in knowing more about Open Source applications to do real work and thinking about how I might convince my bosses to use non proprietary software (instead of a Microsoft or Citrix Solution).

The deletion alone in my mind is more than enough to start boycotting YouTube. Regardless of the fact that the channel was reinstated, there should have been some communication before shutting his channel down on YouTubeā€™s behalf.

It happens too often.

If this was say a channel inciting hate, or animal abuse or something similar then hell yeah shut that shit down. But when it is a channel that is like the Linux Experiment that there are to educated and inform people then there should be a process.

I have already subscribed to Nickā€™s Odysee channel. My resentment of ScrewTube is metastasizing into contempt. YouTube was such a fun & interesting place back in the day. Now I can hardly stand it.

Itā€™s a nightmare to use without an adblocker, on my phone and iPad. Just a damn nightmare.

I have signed up at Odysee too, just trying to find some good Linux channels to follow.
