As I understand it[1] the problem may be caused not in Dolphin, but in: KIO/core/KDiskFreeSpaceInfo::freeSpaceInfo
My Plasma6 setup is now also buggy: the start menu just stopped working, Partition Manager won’t start, at boot I have a message about being in emergency mode, pressing CTRL-D resumes boot and I can log in. All in all, rather unstable. Haven´t had time to look into it, though.
The error of paritionmanager was:
Partitionmanager: symbol lookup error: partitionmanager: undefined symbol: _ZN26CreateVolumeGroupOperationC1ERK7QStringRK7QVectorIPK9PartitionEi
Updated mirrors, ran yay
. Partition manager got an unstable
update and works again.
Just checked in Garuda and it’s working there. So I assume it got fixed already or is a QT 6.7 bug.
Overall my experience is pretty good. Smooth sailing in Garuda, and on Arch the only major issue is the known Settings app not working. I’m running it as my main system now.
Thanks for checking this out and letting us know.
It’s still being a boring Beta, then?
I’m getting this on a different PC as well, that’s a pristine Plasma 5 install.
So this is probably not related to Plasma 6/Qt 6.6 or 6.7,
Sorry for the confusion.
I’m seeing this in the logs on my Plasma 6 machine:
file:///usr/lib/qt6/qml/org/kde/plasma/workspace/calendar/InfiniteList.qml:184: 11 should be coerced to void because the function called is insufficien>
I don’t think as an end user I need worry about this, but should I report it to alert the devs, do you think?
So where are we (status). I finally got the new machine back last night, and have OSs (plural) installed (yes, I still have Windows for those nasty games). Should I get back on the beta channel now or wait till the next release? Bearing in mind this will be the daily driver…and I lost track of experiences lol in the last month of machine flailing.
I’m using Plasma6 as my daily driver.
Updating more than once a day.
No problems for me.
As to flailings -
Reported in this thread above:
And
And
Qt6.7 interfering with plasma6, resulting in “things”.
This is what I know.
Perhaps others see more problems.
Been about a week since I had a update on kde-unstable or am I missing something.
Did you recently refresh the mirrors?
Just refresh the mirrors and still shows kde-unstable up to date.
I’m not near my machine and can’t check at the moment.
Just trying different mirrors, even the World mirrors are not showing any updates.
Seems the last update to kde-unstable was on 2023-12-25.
sounds about right.
I might just be a weenie and wait for the RC1 release in five days. Would nice nice to have a non-broken Settings dialogs
Thanks!
I tried to find out for my system.
Running paclog --action=upgrade
lists which packages were upgraded when.
But it doesn’t show from which repository those packages were coming.
Is there a way to get that info with packlog? (From running man paclog
I doubt it, though.)
I don’t know how to do it locally, there’s probably a way. Usually I just check the Arch website (note that it is sorted by last-updated), e.g.:
https://archlinux.org/packages/?repo=KDE-Unstable&sort=-last_update
paclist kde-unstable
lists packages which were installed from unstable, but without date/time.
Will investigate a bit more.
