Something prevents my os to boot (arbitrarily)

Shutdown: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0deYgucp9gMHkJuaQFGadtROg

Boot: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0LZq-t7FsmcEjCzJaT8eDh25A#Houston

Theyā€™re not uploaded yet. So after this what do you do to get it working?

I go back to dkms -n

Then what? :slightly_smiling_face:

The after couple of reboots or timeshifts it magically boots until the next reboot where it gets stuck again.

Nothing there.

Try again please

Whats this for?

I thought it might be helpful

I should probably give up

Have you seen this guide? I passed it on to someone but donā€™t remember who. Iā€™m not familiar with the kernel they are using maybe @jonathon knows. But anyway have a look at the info.

Edit: It was interesting to me because they are using EndeavourOS

Iā€™m soooo confused. It works again. Until it doesnā€™t. Iā€™ll probably need to reinstall following the guide

I havenā€™t watched the videoā€™s yet. So when it boots and doesnā€™t work is it just black screen?

No itā€™s not black screen. Itā€™s the two line boot log

Now the 470 version of NVIDIA seems working. Probably thatā€™s the short term solution.

I see it showing nouveau? On the shutdown?

I wonder if you need to blacklist nouveau when you have the nvidia installed?

I guess you could try

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf

add

blacklist nouveau
options nouveau modeset=0

save the file

Run

sudo mkinitcpio -p

Edit: Iā€™m just guessing here at things to try. :man_shrugging:
Edit2: Not sure this will just cause more problems?

Iā€™ll not touch anything more until it stops working and then Iā€™ll reinstall. I work on external drives entirely lol

But thank a lot for your help. It was very useful
