I got this about 10 days ago: the Yaqi Précise razor. Stainless steel, with a 1.15mm blade gap. Blade exposure isn’t listed; there is a bit of blade feel but in a mild way. It’s extremely smooth and comfortable in use, and while it’s not my most efficient razor it’s quite efficient.
This has immediately become one of my very favorite razors - and with over 50 to choose from (mostly vintage) that’s saying a lot.
It rigidly clamps the blade better than any razor I’ve used.
It sells as a head only; I paid about $50 USD. I’m temporarily using a titanium handle with it until I figure out what handle I’d like to pair with it.

Got a Yaqi Sentinel stainless steel 1.35mm and 1.5mm gap heads only in, which I’ll definitely be keeping the 1.35mm head, not so sure on the 1.5mm head.
Also got the DSCosmetics AX SE in, which includes 3 plates, 1.15mm gap, 1.35mm gap, and 1.55mm gap. I will never touch the 1.55mm plate, that’s WAY too aggressive for me. The 1.35 is usable, but probably won’t ever touch it either, and the 1.15mm is actually a great shave, and very enjoyable.
Both of these razors are clones of the Wolfman WR2, since trying the Razorock Next Level (another WR2 clone), I had wanted to try some other WR2 clones. Won’t ever try the actual WR2 as it’s simply priced massively beyond my willingness to spend on a razor, being $400. While I for both heads and the entire DSCosmetics razor paid less than $150.
I think I like more aggressive razors than you. I have the Yaqi Sentinel 1.50 open comb; it’s my most efficient DE razor and one of my most used.
Those dscosmetic AX SE razors are one hell of a good bargain. I tend to mostly use the 1.35 plate. The 1.15 is a little too mild for my coarse old whiskers.
I recently got a Razorock Next Level (the 1.35+). I prefer the Yaqi Précise. It’s just as efficient and feels so smooth in use. I’ll probably sell the Razorock soon.
Yeah, I have the Next Level 112, and it’s fantastic for me. Although I do want to try the 1.35, I’m fine sticking with the 1.12 if need be. I am a daily (or more) shaver, so a comfortable razor is absolutely my top priority. My hairs are very fine, and very thin, but they grow like weeds, so I have full on growth within 16-18 hours of shaving. not like a little stubble, full visible growth. Thus the sometime more often than daily if I have a date or such after work since it’ll be enough to be JUST STARTING to be visible, and definitely she’d be able to feel it if we were to hug or something.
I stepped into the safety razor market about 7 years ago, picking up the German MÜHLE Traditional Safety Razor. It’s probably less aggressive than what @Stagger_Lee is using. It is my first safety razor after-all 
I use that with Japanese Feather Hi-Stainless blades, which I found to be a lot sharper than the MÜHLE blades.
The cost of shaving is now insignificant. A good quality Japanese blade costs me less than AU$0.40 (US$0.29, €0.25) and lasts me at least a few weeks. I buy them in packs of 100.
Before switching to this, I’d been using the Gillette Fusion ProGlide 5. Each of those razors costs AU$8, which over a span of 7 years, is roughly AU$500 I no longer need to spend.
I keep buying more razors to add to the collection…and trying out new shave soaps…so while the cost per shave is negligible now, I can’t say I’m actually saving money

Neither can I. After you helped me to choose my first razor purchase, a Mekur 34C, and sending me a Gillette Super Adjustable from the 1970’s, I too have fallen in love with the “safety razor”. My go to is an old Gillette Red Tip. I import the blades I like (Wizamet and Nacets) from the Razor Blade Club out of Sweden. I am now waiting on the Yaqi Precise and a handle to arrive.
Before my “conversion”, I was using a Gillette Fusion. The cost of a 4 pack of blades here in Thailand, depending on the store, is around 700 Baht (approx $20 US). So I was so happy to make the switch. Then I discovered what was on eBay, and it was all downhill from there.
See, everybody? Despite popular perceptions, I can be nice.

I can’t say I’m actually saving money
Yup, same here as well. Keep buying razors and blades to try (I’m over 6000 currently) so any savings per shave is completely offset.
Currently my absolute favorites are the Rckwell 6C, Razorock Gamechanger OC68, and the Yaqi Zephyr.
