- Just ordered one of these. A genuine, brand new, unopened 16GB RAM stick for my ThinkPad T14 Gen 1. That’ll get me from 16GB single-channel to 32GB dual-channel.
price pls…(I’m going to drop dead) ![]()
Is that the Steel version?
Yes, Stainless Steel, but the less attractive matte finish instead of the pretty high polish (which they charge an additional $50 for).
More razors.
Kampfe 20ST11-F11X. Timeless clone, this is the 0.85mm gap, 0.058mm exposure head. Surisingly nice shave for being so much more agressive compared to the real Timeless. Bought it hoping the timeless .68OC plate would work with it so I could sell the Timeless off and still have the OC plate, but sadly, didn’t work, so gotta keep both.
Whityle 23T. Yaqi Zephyr clone. I thought it odd to see another head that was designed exactly like the Yaqi Zephyr and so I ordered it to check. And indeed, it is a total clone other than having scallopped safety bar. I swapped the stock handle (which is actually quite nice) for my Kampfe Timeless Crown SS clone, this quickly became one of my top razors, I absolutely love the way this and the Zephyr shave, doubly so for the price ($9 for the Zephyr head, $14 for this entire razor).
Did you master REW yet ? ![]()
I do like the stonewash, makes it look a bit like Titanium. It wasn’t offered on the Homepage when I had a look, though, hence my question…
I’m pretty certain that I can’t even replicate the creation of my current set of filters, as it has been pretty involved. ![]()
But I think that I’ve applied the techniques presented in this video.
Also, it seems that I’m not really up to date on the latest REW builds and somehow I don’t really want to measure and go through the whole process again.
I have tried both the stable version (latest) and the beta version. Both work without problems. I settled on beta.
But in general, I try to adhere to the principle of “adjust only what is really necessary.” Therefore, one measurement is enough, but corresponding to the task at hand, for example, the moving microphone method (MMM), and everything else is already the work of the mind ![]()
I’m not going to measure different mic positions. If I’m not mistaken moving mic frequency response measurements are mostly popular within the car hifi scene due to their spatial limitiations of suboptimal speaker placements and not really popular within the domain of well defined (home) listening environments. One main listening position, just a pair of larger bookshelf speakers in a triangle setup. The speakers didn’t moved in 10 years and the PEQs I’ve determined with a Omnitronic MM2 USB-Condensor Mic (which calibration already has been outdated when I bought it used).
I’ve recorded single frequency responses almost 2 1/2 years ago. Technically, my audio signal path has changed in the meanwhile (PreAMP, Linear PSU) and therefore I may remeasure. But essentially, the same amplifier driving the same speakers within the same room.
If I watch videos with ambient background noises sometimes it’s uncertain if these sound are originating from the video… or if it’s actually audible noise within my environment.
Sure, an 7.1 surround home theater setup might outperform a set of stereo speakers easily. But for most cases - the stereo image within my listening position is already pretty convincing and I don’t see a need for a sub, center and rear channnels. Especially as most sources are still plain old stereo.
A shipment just arrived from the UK. It’s the anime “Sword Oratoria” which is a spin-off series of “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?”.
Note:
That’s it for anime for now until July, unless something unexpected comes along.
