Really impressive what fits in this small 1l PC

This is not the M910x. It’s the M920Q

I upgraded from my Samsung Galaxy A54 to this beast. I love it. But, it’s my first iPhone. Very tidy setup you have. Mine is stock, with the added apps. I’m sort of a slow adopter, I’m still learning the phone atm.

What case if any did you get for it? I ordered the dbrand Ghost 2.0 should arrive soon.

I go this…

The CPU is a mobile/laptop CPU or a full fledged Desktop/Server CPU?

It’s a Desktop CPU. In this case a i3-9100T. But you can get them with i5 also.

How do you plan to cool this?

Good question. I have no idea. But at the moment it didn’t get that hot, but I only have 1 LAN port connected.

Maybe something like this helps. But i don’t know if this fits on the 4 port NIC.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked my A54. I wanted better photos and I banked the idea of getting a newer phone or a large camera, I chose portability. I haven’t mastered the camera yet though.

Slowly upgrading my peripherals.

I intend to start getting parts for a new PC soon-ish, since I’d like to go fully AMD for the superior Linux integration in terms of GPU drivers. I’ve also been meaning to upgrade from a 3800x to a 7800x3d, so I figured I might as well go for a full upgrade

Do not blindly trust that AMD works out-of-the-box, because even though in Linux world AMD has better reputation, there can be issues; everytime I install my OS I have to edit kernel boot options to get my system run properly thanks to my integrated AMD GPU. On the other hand, I have never had issues with my main Nvidia GPU, considering install or updates.

So my advice is that you should look up your new GPU and see that it works properly either out-of-box or otherway.

That’s why terms like ā€œyour mileage may varyā€ exist in the first place.

With the AMD drivers directly included in the kernel it is still a definite benefit which should be less troublesome. Unless you’ve chosen the very latest GPU which isn’t fully matured yet.

Definitely. The release of the latest RDNA 4 GPUs has shown that the drivers weren’t fully mature upon release. And recent driver updates have bumped the graphics performance significantly all of a sudden. Adopting new hardware too early can definitely result in some issues. And that’s a valid concern, no matter which hardware vendor pushed their product to market.

To me, I doesn’t make a huge difference. As I’m a cheapskate and therefore a late adopter.

Still around? I’ll buy you a beer for a ride LOL

How’s getting in and out of that? I’ve got a 2021 Mazda Miata that I love but at my age it’s
pretty tough getting in and out especially after a long ride. . . never the less I enjoy the ride and it’s a convertable. . . . also a nice feature in good weather.

Rich

Have you ever seen a fish trapped on land? That’s me trying to get out. In is no issue, years of sports cars has made that easy.

I had long since left. Made the drive back as soon as the paperwork was done. 6 hours in those seats is BRUTAL.
