I never even bothered to setup widows. Straight to the bios to boot from USB. :joy:

:slightly_smiling_face: It’s pretty good. :+1:

is this real? … looks funny to me and … is ot also vegan and glutenfree?

Seems to be.

They also have more similar products. I also found this:

I am little bit sceptical about this, but maybe it’s good coffee.

looks healthy stuff in there… but will all this survive the 97°C ? or only using it for cold brew?

On the back it says ā€œsoy dairy and gluten freeā€ among other things. Coffee is a bean, so I guess that means it’s vegan. Vegan is like vegetarian right?

vegan is no-animal-products in … was only joking as here in Germany its common to claim produces vegetarian or glutenfree even if they are naturally free of these…

Considering how much coffee I drink I should probably know more about it.
The ideal temperature to brew it is probably 97C. Coffee burns when the water is too hot; (100C boiling) is too high. I’m guessing it’s sort of like when soup or stews, even thought they are liquids can burn at the bottom of the pot.

Cold brew, is when you don’t use hot water at all so it takes much longer to make. When I make cold brew, I put the coffee in a tea bag and put the bag in a coffee press. Then I just put filtered room temperature water in the press/coffee and put the whole thing in my refrigerator. My refrigerator is set to 6C so it takes 8 or more hours to make the coffee to my liking. The time depends on how strong you want to make it. A coffee press is not necessary, it can be made with a pitcher the same way as ice tea. Cold brew is much milder, less biter and I think it resembles wheat tea.

I’ve never bought this brand before so I don’t know much about it. So far I think it tastes good. Everyone has different opinions on taste, so I don’t know…

But then…? Vegetarian is not animal products too right? Here people just say vegetarian. Some people say herbivore as a joke.

vegeterians do eat animal produces … usually says milk, eggs but no meat (Lacto-Ovo-vegeterian) … but also Pesco-Vegeterians exist

Apropos Coffee just got the missing part and ordered a bunch of parts to revive a la pavoni:

I know some will buy a new Espresso Machine for less… but this machine does the very best Espresso in the world.

I’ve never seen a la pavoni. :astonished: It looks cool, like steam-punk. Some of them even have guages and stuff? I’ve seen siphon coffee makers before but this epic. :slightly_smiling_face:

How’s yours working and what OS do you have installed on it?

I prefer a slightly stronger coffee.

I’m no hoarder, but I was starting to run out of my 2TB HDD. So, got this DAS for supplementing my old Thinkcentre. (Not running EOS on it, sadly. It has AlmaLinux for some added stability.) Got two 4TB IronWolf disks, and using them in a RAID 10 config with ZFS. Should be able to expand later when I need to. Right now, it’s connected through USB 3.0, but I plan to install an eSATA mod at some point.

Another addition to my truck. Rear bumper is finally finished and installed.

Next project are some off road lights. I ordered these 5 inch LED’s, and should arrive soon.

Case looks really cool. What is it?

Ah, restoring / refurbishing used machines. That’s not feasible for those awful capsule machines at all.
For myself, I’m not familiar with la pavoni. But what are your thoughts on hardware mods such as gaggiuino ?

I like it simple, just using an Rommelsbacher espresso cooker the last decade. It’s more or less an electric Bialetti, made out of Stainless steel instead of aluminum.

Someday I’ll brew my special occasion caffeine with a siphon. But I don’t fancy the use of open flames or inefficient IR heaters. Hario has an electric siphon in their line of products, but it’s only available in Japan, as it’s a 100V hot plate which would require a transformer for other line voltages.

I’m happy with it. It’s running vanilla Arch. It’s quite an upgrade over the 1.5GHz launch version of the Pi 4B I had. Especially with the boot and root partitions on the SSD. The main downsides are that the case requires you to run two scripts to setup the fan control and power button. These only run on debian-based distros. I haven’t gotten around to dissecting the scripts yet to see if I can bodge something. I’m only running the Pi as a headless server, so the temperatures never really get up.

It was a little faffy to put together. It wouldn’t power on at first. I think there was a lose connection somewhere, as it was fine after I took it apart & reassembled it. I managed to cleave the SSD mounting screw/bolt/thing in two while moving it, so I’ve requested a spare part. At the moment, the case base plate is holding the SSD in place.

It’s a Syba SY-ENC50104 4 Bay 3.5" SATA enclosure. I originally wanted to get a MediaSonic ProBox. But the only option was to buy an ā€œUsed - Like Newā€ one. I did get it. But it came with a couple brackets broken, and a missing power cable. So just decided to go for the second option people were suggesting online. (People do seem to like Terramaster more, but their devices seem to be too expensive. For that much, I could just get an aftermarket PC.)
