Minimalistic FrankenWM on Arch
My PC only saw a wallpaper change. Nothing more, nothing less.
But! I also got myself a Steam Deck, the 512 model bought secondhand. It’s been fun toying around with this thing. Not going to play AAA games here though, I mainly bought this for a more comfortable text-heavy gaming experience. Using Bazzite’s Deck image with KDE for a near-vanilla Steam Deck experience, with all of my CLI trinkets set up within my tested Arch container for when push comes to shove.
…I’ve learned that I still can’t handle much of KDE. Too many visual distractions that I would rather not come across regularly. I’m fine keeping KDE on this little thing, but GNOME will most likely live on my PC and laptop forever, LOL.
Here you go. I happen to have a copy of it. If it does not work for you, I believe it came from wallpaperflare.com.
thanks a ton! this works for me
What is the clock/date widget?
That’s modern clock, I edit the fonts in it
Another edit to add a bit of motion to the wallpaper.
Will upload them to github shortly if any wants to use them.
Using all my various distro-hopping and fiddling, I think I’ve learned enough to return home to arch full time. This is a light but mostly fully featured install with Sway, systemd boot and snap-pac rollbacks using the live iso in case of issues. I’ve used the otto colour palette from KDE, with a Nord GTK and Icon theme to compliment that, though have kept my theme switcher for gruvbox, everforest, Cyberpunk-neon and solarized, as I get board easily.
(Full disclosure; I pulled my favourite distro’s logo into fastfetch but admittedly did install base arch as I found it easier to configure sway to my liking this way.)

I’ll take a break from this forum honestly because like sometimes I spend too much time on it and like you know it’s not good to consume your life with one thing
But for real I’ve never had a problem with anyone on this forum… Evolving good to me
