, the absolute beautiful glorious thorn in the side of every terminal user including me but I g.d. love it. I dial the pulsing cathode tube up to max, increase blur and horizontal lines, and use the Commodore font set and it makes me feel I’m on another planet, like a Bob Ross kind of planet, but I digress.
It was certainly effective in flooding my neofetch in fuzzy orange amber
Small adjustment to my BSPWM rice. It’s probably my first non-purple one on production.
Wallpaper is from the DT’s GitLab repo: https://gitlab.com/dwt1/wallpapers – I use the feh’s randomize option to set random background while logging into BSPWM session.
Could you share this wallpaper?
Got bored again and decided to switch things up. I’ve been on a 1950’s / 1960’s military kick lately and well, here you go. The old Bomarc missile defense system. Really cool stuff actually.
Back in the day, the US Government built the SAGE system. A combination of high speed (for then) computers, radar relay towers, control stations, fighter jet interceptors and of course, the Bomarc missile to protect the land from the ruskies. Really cool tech. I love this old stuff. It is very fascinating to me.
Here it is my friend!! Enjoy
was that back in the era that coincided with all the prop(aganda) movies for school kids about hiding under desks in case of nuclear fallout etc? or were those films part of all the Cold War rhetoric and separate of SAGE?
Thanks, Drunken not-a-history-major Vicar. Bless you.
Dear mods: sorry for OT question
I can’t quit you Cinnamon. Wallpaper is AUR from a 2019 Ubuntu collection called “Sylvia” which is pretty remarkable. This one is called “Purple.”
Old screenshots of my computer which I currently don’t have right now but will get another one soon.
Thank you!
Well there was a lot of rethoric about atomic devastation and all that.
As far as the SAGE system is concerned though, that was purely for defense and as far as I know - not a propoganda tool.
So basically, they are related by the culture / events of times, but not related in terms of government programs.
Hope that helps make things slightly less muddy.
can I get a a a link for that wallpaper? It’s awesome!
