Well I ended up building what will probably be my final rig, Fractal Define 7 case, it’s an absolute beast on Linux and will probably outlive me Really impressed with AMD’s GPU driver quality. Incredibly grateful for the flexibility of Linux, and more so for KDE Plasma.

This time only the color of the prompt was adjusted matching the plasma color, changed the wallpaper from another WLOP and added the event calendar widget.

Been playing with Gnome Wayland for 4 or 5 days now and must say I do love how fast Wayland makes Gnome work. Biggest peeve on Gnome is that you need to click shut down four times to power off.

That’s a pain if one is “mouse driven” but If you like you could make a keyboard shortcut to immediately poweroff (or reboot):

I use Gnome and I don’t have that problem, I click shutdown and then it shuts down the system or am I misunderstanding the problem you are having?

I guess @anon26269396 means that it takes four mouse clicks to power off the system from the quick settings menu. One click to open the menu, one click on the power icon and so on.

I see now, I have that too. The other option would be to change the power button behavior. The default is to suspend, the other option would be to make it power off, so that way you only have to press one button to power off the system.

I wanted to try Gnome after all these years of Openbox, Gnome works great on Wayland but it’s not for me. ( My needs are simple )

Define simple, I think that definition will be different depending on who you ask? I use Gnome because I like it because it’s simple for me and I the only customization I do now days is changing my wallpaper.
