Current setup in the lounge room, who needs a “smart” tv???

I haven’t posted anything here in a while - mostly I guess because I don’t change that much anymore! I’ve been pretty happy with my current background (thanks antechdesigns), and setup, and most of my conkys. However, under the principle that anything worth doing is worth OVERdoing, I’ve put all the schedules for things I follow (hockey, baseball, car racing) on vertical smooth scrollers on the secondary monitor to save having to go look them up!

Actually, they don’t ‘catch the eye’ unwanted, they usually have ‘stuff’ over them, and they do the job when the thought strikes (Did I set the DVR right?).

It is amazing how much of what I ‘code’ comes down to being lazy in that special computer-oriented way…

Nice looking conky’s I am really digging that astrology one

No expert here - but it is part of the conky ‘extension’ into the realm of weather and other goodies in lua, called conkywx by paramvir in the AUR.

Welcome to EndeavourOS. I like your avatar.

Erm… the same W.M. that Slax uses by default? I can’t believe it! Your screenshots are cool.

(EDIT TYPOS:) The other one you put with “green Arch” was pretty good looking too.

Man I still suck at Linux…

Fluxbox is a perfect half-way station between full DEs and tiling WMs.

You can configure the desktop to your heart’s content every bit as much as with KDE, while keeping the lightness and snappiness of a window manager.

Windows placement in Linux is generally chaotic and messy. Fluxbox remembers windows size and position, so windows open in a sane and predictable manner. For me, there is no reason to use anything other than FB, as long as I’m not yet at a tiling WM.

For those interested in Fluxbox implementation, MX Linux Fluxbox is much worth to have a look at.

I’m not a fan of the MX old-school aesthetics, but functionality-wise it is a very good representation of Fluxbox potential.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll test it out in a VM this weekend.
