Thanks!
Great job nicely done, keep it up .
Fluxbox?! Nice.
Yeah, I’m addicted to Fluxbox!
It is as snappy as any floating wm, and it remembers windows size/position when you tell it. I’ve only found kwin who also do that, but it is more cumbersome.
This is what is keeping xxxx from being the “year of the Linux desktop”! Windows handling is chaotic and weird by default in all (non tiling) de’s and wm’s. It is a mystery to me how much this is neglected in Linux.
That, and easy multi-display setup with different monitors. My TV is capable of 4096x2160 -60hz, but I have to run it in 3048x2160 -24 hz, because YCbCr 4:2:0 is needed to run at full specs. It is low on the priority list right now, but hopefully I’ll figure something when the time comes. Most movies are usually framerate 24 anyway, but movie audio is lagging on that screen and there’s tearing and lagging when moving stuff.
Small things that should be solveable but keeps Linux from ruling the desktop market.
If any of you want to play with the budgie panel here’s how to do:
cd .config
cd gtk-3.0
then use an editor add this to gtk.css:
nano/vim/etc gtk.css
.budgie-panel {
background-image: none;
border: 0.5px solid rgba(154,78,140,0.60);
background-color: rgba(28,30,38,0.85);
}
this actually the values i used in the screenshot but you can use any color you want!
the first three numbers is the color i used and 0.60 and 0.85 the transparency in case anyone is wondering
save the changes Logout and Log back
Enjoy =)

I do have fluxbox installed on my systems forever not much changed on the setup as i do only have it as a fallback
don’t know who to ask
but would like to delete my profile here in this forum
Thanks, this is actually a great idea for a hobby when I retire! At this stage, my “ricing” just consist of stealing bits and pieces from across Linux-land in learning-mode
.
Sure, poor Venom don’t know who to ask for the 6 (or what it is already) times he did exactly that before ![]()

what is your problem?
None, it’s just a
show, you clearly know what to do and who to call to do exactly the same thing you have done multiple times before ![]()
you must be obsessed with that clown you have to show off all the time
