very nice. what editor are you using and also theme, I like to use them too. thank you
Zorin OS is a nice set up, I’ve played with it some and it seems like it would be a good first distro for someone moving from Windoze. It is worth noting that even their latest 16.2 release is still on a combination of Gnome 3.36 and 3.38 (though Zorin has done a lot of their own customization).
No! Mine is!

For a fraction of a second, I thought it was KDE ![]()
I just wish they Gnome would pick an extension and run with it. I don’t like their desktop and the way it works. ![]()
Edit: Budgie’s better!
Windows 95 had some nice instruction windows on how to use the desktop. Gnome has that too btw ![]()
Just click on the start button and search programs.
I think my next weekend project is to config KDE like win95
just for old times sake.
No I’m going Mac! ![]()
Yes, I once tried in a VM when I was still on Windows but could not get it to work properly - probably my failing ![]()
Agree 200%. I am amazed that in spite of it being a rolling release there are no hassles, unlike Windows. As for the community, there too I am extremely impressed - I have tried other distros (~ 10) but none of them came close to the EndeavourOS community.
Thanks for your detailed explanation.
Hasta luego.
Don’t be surprised and I’ll explain why this happens. ↓
EOS has developers who know very well what they are doing, plus they are always on top of the distro, like the forum and other channels, networks and so on.
All that makes a combo of talent and follow up, which is second to none.
Conclusion → Everything works as expected!
The reason I am amazed is because people are always saying “be careful with a rolling release, it is risky”. I got fed up with having to uninstall and reinstall fixed release distros (Mint), so I took the plunge as a newbie and installed EndeavourOS.
Well, I can tell you I have had more hassles with Mint than I have had with EOS: in fact, with EOS I have only had that once in a lifetime glitch with grub a couple of months ago. Other than that: smooth as butter. I love it.
I had fun few years ago to make Xfce looks like Win95
, now it’s easier with :
Packages are in the AUR.
Exactly. And I am known for breaking distros! The Mint team hated when I posted over there.
