Checking out the new GNOME 42 on Fedora.

xfce4-terminal doesn’t adhere to theming from the settings. Dash to dock doesn’t work as an extension - but I can’t imagine with teh popularity of it that will take all but a week to fix. The new “dark mode” theming of what actually does get themed though is really nice. I think they did a good job.

Pop-shell still works- and really, that’s the ONLY extension I really care about to be honest. Everything has to tile!!

It was fun while it lasted (30 min). I always really want to like Fedora. . . I just don’t for some reason. It’s like. . . a really nice Fiat. You’d love to drive it. You just. . . don’t really want to own it.

and I used xfce4-terminal so you can see the contrast of the non-themed xfce terminal and nomacs against the dark mode GNOME settings.

The same, from fedora core 1 till 5 was always in my lilo, my first gnome-based distro. But…

My oldest saved shot, maybe December 2003-January 2004. In my LInuxLOader: debian woody, suse 7 (before opensuse), Fedora Core 1 and windows ( dial-up and winmodem times).

Just curious? Is that Caffeine or Espresso in your taskbar? I’ve been testing Espresso on fedora/Gnome42 and it seems to be working alright. The new docking station functionality is still a bit sketchy though.

Caffeine via gnome extensions in firefox, not AUR. I just installed it and it seems to be working just fine.

This is 41 just to be clear. No idea if it works outside of this. I would give more stock in Fedora, but it doesn’t ship with hibernation, and if I’m going to “build” in a sense, I’d just assume stick Arch based.
