I think you’re talking about the Firefox window, which is what has its tabs on the left side. It is not a BSPWM feature, it is a Firefox addon and a bit of custom css.

It’s kind a running thing for me. I try to use the manufacturer logo for the application launcher icon. It gives it a more “OEM” feel.
