I like the look of Gnome 40. However, the icon choice is not my cup of coffee.

And welcome to us in here!

Looks a bit empty to meā€¦

Is this view now the actual desktop or just the selection of the workspace? Is there still a desktop at all?

Giving GNOME 40 a go for a while on the home desktop. EOS making it easy even if itā€™s just not quite Arch.

Edit: does anyone know how to change the title bar color yet? I thought I went thru all of the options, I must have missed it or it must be some extension thing I need to get.

But ā€¦ but ā€¦ butbutbutt ā€¦ IT IS! It is, like, totally Arch! Just a bit customized, so even better. Things were added that we wouldā€™ve added anyway, nothing was taken away.

Is it though? Thereā€™s a few things I need to remove/uncheck before install. Itā€™s still fantastic though.

The icon choice is not a problem. Done by an open source developer. You get it from gnome-look.org.

The wallpaper is from Arch Linux.
Theme: Cameo-ALU-Dark,
Icons: BigSur-Panel-White,
Dash to Dock + quite a bit of extensions.
By the way, if someone is having problems with Terminal transparency, (re)install gnome-terminal-transparency
Yesterday, there were 22 pages of extensions, but today its brought down to 16.

Iā€™m far from being an expert on these things but as far as I understand the devs they just added desktops, yay and the Firefox browser. Rest is pure Arch.

Yes and no. Itā€™s exactly Endeavor, and itā€™s great. Thatā€™s all that really matters.

I believe itā€™s controlled by the gtk theme

You need to change the shell from default.

888Edit or you can use the transparent shell extension and blur my shell extension both are working on gnome 40 for me.

do you want to change the window title bar or panel? Its fairly easy to edit in the theme but i dont remember the name in CSS at the moment though.

I simply hide the top panel, for I donā€™t have any use for it. If I need to logout or reboot or just see the battery level, all I do is just click under that area. Or, if the need is weather, under the middle. I have the D2P too, but at the moment it is somewhat buggy.

This is Arch, not Fedora.
