🖥️ Share Your Desktop [2026]

Mangowm

I keep mine quite simple, as I hardly ever see (much of) it anyway:

This just happened to be an “unused” virtual desktop. :wink:

Well, I restarted the PC after I formatted it. In addition to the usual Debian 13 trixie, where I always set the desktop the same way (which I have already posted, I didn’t even change the background image), here is the new addition. I’ll see how I get on.

:splatter:

deleted.

Here’s one I have on another display. I have been using this on a laptop at the Pub, shown on the lock-screen when I need to nip out:

Shame I don’t have a higher-resolution image as a base.

Edit: @chroot It is better to click the three dots, then select the dustbin (trash can) icon if you wish to delete a post, as I see that the edit history is still visible to regular members here, whereas a deleted post shouldn’t be. :wink:

Just ripped avatar airbender 2026 … new backgrounds

LXQt + Labwc (Wayland)

I took these screenshots this morning and just when I was trying to post them here, I noticed the website was down…:astonished_face:

But here they are now.

where you got this UI?

He said at the top of his post…

Yes, but LXQT does not have panels,search bars ,try and screen-locker,as he had

I see. It could be Waybar or even XFCE Panel. Let’s wait for @Ali-1074 to respond.

Yes it does

tell me about that dock when you get a minute. thanks.

After the trial and fail of soplos, I figured I would give Siduction a try. Intalled it in place of soplos on my testing laptop with the xorg (fluxbox) .iso. I quickly added openbox and its accompaning files/apps and the apps that I like to use. Here it is running openbox wm and so far I am liking it pretty much! It uses the debian unstable repos so it is really “up to date” in my opinion.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the interest and feedback, and sorry for the late response!

@wodsfortdragon & @UncleSpellbinder:
Here is the breakdown of the UI tools I used:

  • Panel / Bar: Waybar
  • App Launcher: Rofi
  • Notification Center: SwayNC
  • Screen Locker: Hyprlock

@drunkenvicar:
The dock is Crystal-Dock! I highly recommend it over Cairo-Dock because it has native Qt & Wayland support, making it super stable on LXQt.

@thefrog:
Thanks for pointing out that LXQt panels are configurable!

For anyone interested in setting this up, I made a detailed tutorial video on YouTube:

(Note: In the video, I was using Cairo-Dock, but I switched to Crystal-Dock later. Please check the pinned comment on the video for the updated configs, themes, and download links!)

thank you. I have no dock in Solus Wayland Budgie, and the labwc, Mutter-friendly docks are scarce. Will check this out.

I wonder if noctalia and dank would run on labwc… Not seen it mentioned anywhere.

solus labwc comes bone stock, barren and black, and according to their labwc users, dank marries up beautifully with it.
