I have been a long time user of JaKoolit’s Hyprland dots, now maintained by someone else. Main issue it was so heavily themed that Zoom was effectively broken. Decided to try ML4W another go. I tried it early in it’s days and it was still young. Now? Pretty dang happy. Snappy, keybindings are great! I only added a few more keybindings on window movement and a quick key for area snapshots to custom.conf.

I love how someone can post a screenshot of any OS and nobody complains about it not being Endeavour. Try that on another forum! One reason why EndeavourOS is being rated a beginner friendly OS in multiple reviews. That and it is freakishly stable.

I like how you rotated the notes, matches the wallpapers direction

I installed ML4W/Hyprland last week alongside of EOS Budgie. It was a handsome godd*** OS. Gorgeous. Sleek.

Then when it wrecked all my Budgie settings I ripped the SOB out and trashed it all.

I have not cracked the riddle of how the WM/TM alongside of a DE people make it work day to day, like OpenBox. Where the he** is the sweet spot with a DE and a WM/TM together?*

**It made me think to really enjoy ML4W I’d have to nuke Budgie…and I’m not confident to fly solo with a WM yet…

But I digress. Yours looks great!

Hmm, maybe experiment what works in a VM, in the past I have had either kde/i3 installed or kde/openbox (both as fallbacks) with next to no issues once I finished setting up.

you are giving me confidence now.

Awesome, hope you can get it working together

How did it screw budgie up? It should have zero influence on a DE.

Can be easy to screw up any DE quite easily, which is why when I could I would test what I was going to do first. A theme or random config file can easily screw things up.

love the colours

Only thing I have installed is Huprland. No plasma, no budgie, nothing. I like that I can manipulate everything without a mouse. TMUX/TPM has also been a staple for me along with LazyVim

reminds me of DOS back in the day, if you had a mouse you where rich

I’m starting to actually enjoy KDE. I tried it several times and it always was slugging and apps would take several seconds to open. I tried it on several distros (Kubuntu, Arch, EndeavourOS) and every time had the same experience. I don’t know why this time is different, but it works flawlessly. And the functionality it provides is superb. My only gripe is the mess it creates in .config directory

sorry but I find this funny as, sounds like a 1st world problem lol. But yer KDE can be complex or simple, whatever you need.

It does sound like it. However I have a good, modern computer and had used GNOME and a few WMs on it without the hiccups I had on KDE, which led me to the frustration. Perhaps there was something amiss, I don’t know. But as I said, it’s working flawlessly now. Just like the 1st world likes it

that’s all that matters in the end

Just a bit of Klassy/Darkly and Panel Colorizer tinkering. Also, new wallpaper and new Fastfetch image.
