Well, for example, the NVidia settings don’t fully detect the video card in Wayland, while it does with X11.
I’ve also noticed that the text in the game menus isn’t present with Wayland, while it is with X11, for example. However, this seems to have disappeared now, after the latest update.
However, the video card still isn’t detected correctly with Wayland.
Ah,… Not the same thing.. Mine goes complete blackscreen when logging in Wayland and the LED on the laptop signals it goes to sleepmode. And nothing works except shutting it down… All after an update, only x11 works somewhat.
I have an 1650ti in the laptop so I hoped that it wasn’t just me with this specific issue
Well, for example, if I try to log out and go back to the login screen to log back in with another session (perhaps switching from Wayland to X11 or vice versa), the login screen crashes and I’m forced to manually reboot.
Wayland seems to work for me, though. I installed EOS with the “Install EOS with NVIDIA drivers” option, which installs the proprietary drivers, but it’s not the dkms version. They work, but I imagine the problem persists even with the dkms version of the drivers.
Another thing I noticed is that I had to connect this old PC to a PC monitor, since the desktop on the TV was extending beyond the edges of the screen, and I couldn’t fix it (also because it’s a very old TV, the resolution on the TV is very low, so the screens aren’t fully displayed). I also tried a newer TV, but the problem was the same, at least for me. On the PC monitor, however, there was no problem.
I got obsessed in having global transparency so decided to go the opposite way to freshen things up.
Transparency on desktop bars and Zen browser but everything else opaque… I think I prefer it.

this issue just doesnt wanna leave me and evolved a bit (or better i understood it wrong). right now i just want to get wayland to work again because the laptop is just 13" but has a 4k screen and scaling on x11 is weird. the monitor issue is something for another day
Turned down the amount of coloring, my eyes burns a bit less
Still a lot of things to adjust, this will take a while.

Well, my laptop is soley Arch based distros now. Got tired of a few issues with PCLinuxOS so I replaced it with Mabox. BeautyLine icons, Adwata Widget, and Mikachu window border.

I cannot see white font on transparent window background, is there a blur option for the background?

To blur the background of windows, I use better blur which I build from the github repo. The only gotcha is that it needs rebuilding after every plasma update.

Yep true, as much as I like the transparent look, and I really do, I started to feel (for me at least) some elements of it weren’t so practical for daily use. Man it can look so good though.

Startpage in Firefox is tabliss with additional settings. On your Desktop, you can get a blur effect with plasma-wallpaper-effects plasmoid.
