Alright I downloaded system76 power and said for Optimus to start up in hybrid mode but system76 says it’s in nvidia, and now only my monitor is working, my laptop screen is black and not even showing up on arandr
Is this with the Intel driver uninstalled? Did you try the sytem76 power before uninstalling the Intel driver?
I installed system76 power before deleting the Intel driver
So you tried the sytem76 power and it it is in hybrid mode and doesn’t work?
Let me send my Optimus manager configuration
I don’t need the configuration. I’m just asking if you had it in Hybrid mode when you said it didn’t work with the system76 power installed. Then try it with Intel uninstalled so its’ running on the kernel module.
It should be running on the kernal module.
When it boots it will either run on Intel or the kernel module. Then you change it to discrete graphics. You say the monitor doesn’t work if set above 60 Hz? Correct?
This is in the configuration.
- To use the intel driver, you need to install the package “xf86-video-intel”.
driver=modesetting
I can’t even change it right now, optimus manager is just giving me errors.
Should I comment out the driver=modsetting?
Have you tried it with Intel driver then? So it looks like you need to have the Intel driver installed an change the config file to use intel?
Alright I’ll give that a try
Aha! I got optimus-manager to work. Right now it says its on integrated, gonna try switching to hybrid wish me luck
Could we see inxi -Ga when in Hybrid mode?
https://pastebin.com/JbRU5FUB monitor is still having the same issue
When you say it say’s it’s on integrated that means it’s running on Intel. If it’s on dedicated graphics it should be Nvidia.
I always get those confused, dedicated is nvidia and integrated is intel right?
Should be that way.
So are you able to make it run on Nvidia?
Yes I am but the issue still persists.
