Root access Thunar doesn't see an external drive after formatting

After my system freezed and crashed (the issue described in this post) while I was backuping data on a new external drive, I had to reboot and realized that it doesn’t mount anymore. No big deal, I reformatted it (tried ext4, exfat, ntfs) only to find out that all the permissions except root are now “Read Only”. I tired to edit them by entering Thunar with root access, and there is no external drive showing in the list, while ordinary Thunar session can still see it. What can be done to fix this issue? Thank you.

try removing the drive and then plugging it back in

I found the drive directory via sudo thunar in /mnt, changed the permissions and thing’s working. Kinda panicked at the beginning, but the solution here is a nobrainder, sorry for bothering.
