Did you end up updating the Bios?

at this time i was not able to update my bios (
i did

sudo nvidia-installer-dkms -n

and now

Apparently BIOS update on some HP models in Linux is real pain in the rear end…according to archwiki :upside_down_face:

These are apparently kernel bugs that aren’t fixed yet…

If everything is working they are apparently harmless.

The bios update is better done from windows i think. I hate HP bios! As much as secure boot! Maybe more. :laughing:

As @BONK said those messages are harmless. I see it has nouveau loaded now. From your original posts you were having issues with xorg core dump but if the system is working now some of these error messages are informational in value only. A lot of HP and Dell and other laptops have those same acpi errors. If you are able to update the Bios it may help or there may not be any change as far as the error messages go.

Hopefully you are not having the core dump now? That was the only reason to remove the nvidia to see if that is gone. Not sure why the nvidia didn’t install last time as there were no errors in the test output run before hand.

So is it working okay?
