@iwedmak
So you don’t have anymore messages regarding the i2c error? Can you post the following link. I’ll have a look at it. I may want some other logs also.
sudo dmesg | eos-sendlog

sudo dmesg | eos-sendlog
and also i managed to remove nvidia driver ) but look like i failed in instaling free driver properly )
Device-2: NVIDIA TU116M [GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile] driver: N/A
and now my log looks like this
авг 01 22:47:08 iwedmak-n02 kernel: nvidia-gpu 0000:01:00.3: i2c timeout error e0000000
авг 01 22:47:08 iwedmak-n02 kernel: ucsi_ccg 0-0008: i2c_transfer failed -110
авг 01 22:47:08 iwedmak-n02 kernel: ucsi_ccg 0-0008: ucsi_ccg_init failed - -110
I’ll try to help you. What does this show?
nvidia-installer-check
[iwedmak@iwedmak-n02 ~]$ nvidia-installer-check
Your graphics card (id: 2191) is supported by the nvidia-dkms driver.
To install a driver for this card, you can use nvidia-installer-dkms.
Okay lets try a test. You can post the output. No changes will be made.
nvidia-installer-dkms -t
@iwedmak
I looked at the log and i do see a lot of acpi errors. But those are not concerning to me currently. You maybe can check if there is a UEFI Bios update for this laptop later. That may or may not resolve all or some of those errors or any due to the fact that some manufacturers acpi implementation are flawed.
Edit: You could also try some kernel parameters for some acpi errors.
It’s more the core dump issue with xorg that is most concerning. I also noticed the sof audio. Do you have sof-firmware installed? This is for the audio chip.
Are you able to run the nvidia test?
[iwedmak@iwedmak-n02 ~]$ nvidia-installer-dkms -t

Looks good so lets install it.
sudo nvidia-installer-dkms
Edit: Then sudo systemctl reboot
just installed according to your recomendations, fresh log a bit later
https://clbin.com/XrluH
after everything and reboot

Where are you getting the i2c info from? Also can you check do you still have the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_i2c-nvidia-gpu.conf file?
Edit: Okay I see you must have picked them out of dmesg log. That’s okay. I see them Some of these things don’t bother me as they are just informational. The ac errors though are quite a few
Did it not install the nvidia driver?
inxi -Ga
@joekamprad
There are a load of acpi errors in dmesg but currently trying to see if OP has got the nvidia drivers installed again and needs to deal with the hybrid graphics and nvidia enhancements with maybe optimus-manager. I’m not sure the error messages are causing any problem?
yea yea .. Nvidia I love you!
the last log shows also pcie errors:
0.556387] pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: DPC: error containment capabilities: Int Msg #0, RPExt+ PoisonedTLP+ SwTrigger+ RP PIO Log 4, DL_ActiveErr+
usually acpi errors do not harm system but they are also pcie related..
and it says (bug) also.. so could be one one hand caused by Bios, what could be solved if there is a newer firmware available,
I see also: 5.10.53-1-lts is used? so same with main kernel?
0.183890] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Failure creating named object [\_SB.PCI0.XHC.RHUB.GPLD], AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20200925/dswload2-326)
[ 0.183894] ACPI Error: AE_ALREADY_EXISTS, During name lookup/catalog (20200925/psobject-220)
_SB.PCI0 also pcie related…

If i find the right device there is a BIOS/Firmware update:

Also it could be needed to set one of these OSI parameters:
@iwedmak
So some more info for you here. Just wondered if it did install the nvidia drivers again. You can see from

i did try approch with grub, didnt help (

nor this
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="acpi_osi=! acpi_osi='Windows 2020'"
with bios update is currently struggling due to HP nuances
Doesn’t look like nvidia is installed. Maybe remove nvidia and install nouveau open source.
sudo nvidia-installer-dkms -n
