Possible Manual Intervention Required After xkeyboard-config 2.48-1 Update

I’m confused.
My setting:

[thomas@roamer ~]$ localectl status
System Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
    VC Keymap: de
   X11 Layout: de
[thomas@roamer ~]$

But in a TTY the keyboard layout is still us and I’m lacking Umlaute.
GUI/Plasma is working fine.
Where to put the german layout for TTY?

From my testing while i am only 1/8 o present in that as of i am in holidays.. renovating gardening etc.. we do still need VC-keymap to be set to de-latin1 or de-latin1-nodeadkeys

Valid command would be sudo localectl set-keymap de-latin1 or
sudo localectl set-keymap de-latin1-nodeadkeys ( if you have such keymap )

thats if you have VC Keymap: de it confuses me for years already.. but 99,990% of Germans will need Umlaut keymaps so it needs de-latin1 still no change on this..

First of all, enjoy the rest of your vacation.
Okay, that rules out the “–no-convert” option/flag, so VC-Keymap will initially be configured with
de-latin1 or de-latin1-nodeadkeys.

EndeavourOS installer will set de-latin1 (for VC-Keymap) if you do not set something else / in addition in the installer slides for keyboard/keymap
