Poor Gaming Performance On A Fresh Xfce Install

no use

Do you also use xfce on previous distro?

Could be something to do with compositing.

EndeavourOS really hates bloates so I wouldnā€™t be surprised if they took off some components or doesnā€™t provide some packages that exist in other distro and happens to be needed to improve your specific machine config performance. Like some lib32 packages.

The only other ideas I have is if you play on Steam, try to put this:

DRI_PRIME=1 DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="[your graphics processor here]" gamemoderun %command%

Gaming in Linux just works!*

try installing steam-native-runtime and use Steam Native. Steam then uses system libraries instead of its integrated libraries - which means a lot newer libraries are used.

Generally, Intel 3D performance on integrated chips is not great.

That is indeed true , but UHD G1 fares decently against some mid end games , see the issue is that here from the past two months, all latest arch based distros are messing up my performance before the last two months everything was great.

I have tried Garuda and manjaro but to no avail.

No work , thanks though !

You can try using LTS kernel and/or downgrade mesa driver to the 2 months ago version.

have you tried that part of my reply?

No use .

How to downgrade ? Seems I have no package cache as I freshly installed Galileo iso yesterday and it comes with latest mesa by default

Xfce is not the best DE for gaming. Plasma (also known as KDE) could be better. Maybe gnome?

According to @joekamprad in this thread (post 13):

will try and let you know

sudo downgrade mesa

Iā€™ve found this video yesterday, has some good info on gaming on linux, I hope it helps you

Hell yeah ! Dayuum ! The Issue Has Been resolved , the fix was quite simple , change de , Thanks to everyone for support ! For any future newbies:

Just Change Your Desktop Environment From XFCE To KDE or something else , that should do !

Va bene then ! Now I go to read the arch man pages !

Iā€™ve never been able to stomach xfce in any form, so I didnā€™t know that it might have a problem with compositing for games (performance wise). Yes, KDE is my preferred platform too.
