I update plasma 6 and as you know it’s wayland by default.
but desktop and panels ( system tray etc.) freeze randomly and unresponsive at all.
trying
sudo plasmashell --replace
result:
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root'
kf.dbusaddons: DBus session bus not found. To circumvent this problem try the following command (with bash):
export $(dbus-launch)
ddnn

Have you seen this thread? There may be a solution in there for you.
From @joekamprad
Autologin and Wayland:
in case you are using autologin feature your Plasma Session will “change” to wayland (new default)
file to edit is /etc/sddm.conf with the autologin settings… and it has plasma set as session:
[Screenshot_20240309_012015-1]
change that to Session=plasmax11 and after reboot it should start X11 session again.
Package changes:
Arch done a great job resolving all the package changes it can be you will have some unwanted unneeded dependencies/lefto…
Also, if you weren’t using Wayland before, you can keep using X11(Xorg) with plasma6 by selecting it from the dropdown menu before logging in.
