Pacman and other programs say no internet even though I can browse just fine

When I try to update my system pacman can’t download any database files. The welcome application says I have no internet connection. I can’t update the endeavor-keyring because pacman can’t connect to any mirrors. However, I can browse firefox just fine. I’m writing this post on the same computer that is saying it doesn’t have internet connection. I am connected to my Wi-Fi just fine. I’ve disabled IPv6 and there’s no difference. My firewall is down. I don’t think its a driver problem since, again, browsing the web works just fine. I don’t have a VPN, I’m located in the United States, I’ve tried updating my mirror lists for arch and endeavor. I’ve done LOTS of googling and I can’t seem to figure it out.

This problem also persists in the live ISO installer. Same situation.

Here’s my inxi -Faz

I’d appreciate any help you guys can give. I’m tearing my hair out over this one. This is a new install and I haven’t been able to update my system yet because of this problem.

From a terminal, could you ping a web site you can visit on the web, and then if that’s successful, try to ping a Arch mirror, say arch.mirror.constant.com ?

Yep, both work!

I would have put the terminal output but it says I can only put 5 links in a post. So you’re gonna have to trust me lol.

I pinged google.com and arch.mirror.constant.com

Can you share the full output from pacman -Syu?

Here's my pacman output

Try updating the mirrors first.

I updated the mirrors again using reflector and my pacman output is still the same.

Try and see if this would work:

sudo pacman -Syu --disable-download-timeout

Yes there seem to be quiet a few timeouts, I normally set it to timeout at 30 to avoid similar issues. I would also suggest maybe investigating using some other mirrors, I find the new Zealand/American servers work better than the Australian ones for me

Well I updated to worldwide/american mirrors since I’m in America, and i disabled timeouts, and now it works. However it is extremely slow, like 5KiB/s. This is odd because I get about 10MiB/s download if I’m on windows (I dual boot) or if I’m on my phone. Any ideas how to speed this up to what it should be? I’ve already tried enabling/disabling ipv6.

Honestly I’ve never tried to speed it up, as long as I can connect I’m happy, my internet service can be bodgey as at times

Might depend on the mirror you are connecting to or connected with for that update. You may want to comment out that mirror for your next update, and keep rotating them until you find a suitable one.

I’ve never changed my mirror in the last 2.5+ years. It’s a regional state university that hosts quite a number of distros and opensource projects. My tax dollars! It’s the only uncommented mirror in my mirrorlist file.

Welcome to the forum!

If possible, try installing package rate-mirrors and then use the Welcome app to rank the mirrors with the button that uses rate-mirrors.

Also you could rank the EndeavourOS mirrors with Welcome.
