Openbox Community Edition Install

@Pudge the install worked perfect, no warnings or errors. See the double icons on the panel, likely look into that after a little food and coffee.

Same here The install was flawless. i just replaced the new tint2 config with a backup so double icons removed.

Thinking of doing the same with tint2 config as the one I use is setup for my needs.

I did it just to make sure that it was something with configuration and not with tint2 itself but your correct its already setup for my use and I more than likely would have replaced it in the end anyways lol.

@thefrog I guess I was wrong. I thought you were in Florida for some reason. Although I wish I was in Florida for a couple of months.

Thanks everyone for the testing and feedback.
If @thefrog or @sammiev can share their tint2 config, I will see about including it in github

Well to be honest I am from as far south Georgia as you can get without going into Florida. I used to live about 45 minutes from Jax. Unfortunately I moved to Ohio where its not as warm :frowning:

Thank you. I will try that on my openbox install this evening and see how it looks.

EDIT:
What is the full Filename for this file ?
Obviously /home/$USER/.config something

/home/$USER/.config/tint2/tint2rc

I have icons in .local/share/icons

in that folder there is also a file Exit.sh to give you a logoff/shut down menu in the middle of the screen.

#! /bin/bash
yad --timeout=20 --timeout-indicator=top --center --borders=1 --on-top --sticky --single-click --title='Logout Options' \
	--buttons-layout=center \
	--window-icon="gtk-quit: exit" \
	--button="Lock!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/system-lock-screen.svg:i3lock-fancy -p" \
	--button="Suspend!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/system-suspend.svg:systemctl suspend" \
	--button="Logout!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/system-log-out.svg:kill -9 -1" \
	--button="Reboot!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/system-reboot.svg:systemctl reboot" \
	--button="Shutdown!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/system-shutdown.svg:systemctl poweroff" \
#	--button="Cancel!/home/$USER/.local/share/icons/stop.svg:0" \

also a file called test.sh and the pacseek icon

#! /bin/sh
konsole pacseek

My tint2rc config will be looking for these items, which could be deleted if you want bare bones. I will post a screenshot of my setup in the screenshot section and add the link here if you want to compare it.

EDIT: Share Your Desktop - #10121 by sammiev

The screenshots did not show up.

Pudge

Strange, people are already liking my screenshot.

I think he though you was going to put up a screenshoot in here.

I do like the screenshot.

When I go to the Share Your Desktop Topic, I get this

If I click on the first image, I get this error code.

Maybe it’s my location, which is Colorado.

Using a 3rd party to host your screenshots is not optimum. When one uploades the image straight to the EnOS forum, the third party is eliminated.

Pudge

I will upload direct here and maybe a mod cam remove them tomorrow or the next day.

Wow, I am glad I got to see your setup. Nice.

Don’t worry about uploading images to EnOS forum. There is plenty of room at the Inn.

If you want to share your configs and exit dialog, we can try to get them into github.

Pudge

Is there a place I can upload them, if any work needs to be done on them I would be more than willing to help.

Let me think on that a bit.

Notice here

That this github repository has a .config file and a .themes file. in the openbox-install.sh script there are these lines

mkdir -p ~/.config
mkdir -p ~/.themes
cp -R .config/* ~/.config/
cp -R .themes/* ~/.themes/

so whatever is in the .config and .themes file determines the configuration and theming.
All we need to do is get copies of your .config and .themes files and then add a .local file and we would be set.

Let me ponder a bit on how to do that.

Pudge

EDIT:
One of the goals of EnOS is to provide a close to vanilla environment as a base to build on. Maybe we could use the current configuration without the double icons, etc as default. Then also include your configuration as a post install option.
