This Arch Linux BBS thread might give you some idea, where and how to begin trouble-shooting, I hope.

:crossed_fingers:

Nvidia encoder can’t work with Intel GPU, you need to force use of nvidia GPU while launching OBS

how do i do that? I have already virtualised my Nvidia graphic card , so for endeavour os its just intel integrated gpu

unable to connect with it, says connection has timed out

here is my system configuration

No idea what you mean by vitrtualized, but i assume you’re using Optimus laptop (i hate that crap) so you should research how to switch GPU that’s pretty complicated topic and depends on your setup…

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA_Optimus

@petsam LOVES that kind of crap, he might want to help…or not

It comes up within a second, here.

Where is your Karuṇā for someone living in the same world as you, but in a “remote” place as viewed from your habitat?

Is it working??

Yes!

not for me , but if its for you , you should probably help me

What does it have to do with anything?
I hate that crazy “technology” because it brings suffering to millions of people, it has nothing to do with laptop price, if that’s what you imply - today it’s nearly impossible to find laptop with single GPU.

Here’s the PDF I just saved from that site:
[SOLVED] CUDA not working on linux-ck kernel _ Kernel & Hardware _ Arch Linux Forums.pdf (294.3 KB)

Not implying anything, just asking you for a little bit more mercy on others, who may be in a dire situation. - This may even be me, over-interpreting some things here.

I don’t know if this will help, but I would try changing it.

I was able to fix this on Ubuntu 22.04 with the following steps:

grep ^ /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get upgrade obs-studio

If OBS crashes as soon as you hit “Start Recording,” it could be due to a codec issue, GPU driver conflict, or corrupted settings. First, update your graphics drivers and make sure your recording settings match supported formats (like MP4 or MKV with NVENC or x264). If it’s been saving broken or incomplete files, try using https://repаir.cleverfiles.com/ to fix any corrupted recordings. You can also try resetting OBS settings or running it as admin to see if that helps.

This thread is years old. Best to start a new one and post additional information: Which obs version, which hardware, are there any specific error messages, can you provide a log etc.
