No ethernet connection usb live install

Well -n shows more than N :innocent:

[ricklinux@eos-kde ~]$ inxi -n

[ricklinux@eos-kde ~]$ inxi -N

Jonathon, the total output from inxi -NA was only Audio and Network so I put an abbreviated mention about Audio.

@Bobcapp
Well it’s entirely your decision as i say you could install xfce offline and see if there is Ethernet after the install and reboot.

Edit: https://discovery.endeavouros.com/desktop-environments/how-to-install-desktop-environments-next-to-your-existing-ones/2021/03/

I’m going for it and install without the internet.
After all, you’ve been good enough to spend all afternoon and then some to help me. You too Jonathon.
I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

Okay i put up the link to the wiki for installing another desktop and also tells you how to remove a desktop if the Ethernet does end up working. :crossed_fingers:

Bobcapp, I asked for inxi -Na. Note the lower case a. -A will provide audio output which is obviously irrelevant here.

You the man. So far, so good. It is unpacking.

:drum: Roll
The question is did you get it installed and does the ethernet work? If it doesn’t well i’ll be :scream: :hole: :walking_man:

Okay… I agree your inxi -Na gives even more info. :cry:

It does, though I think -n provides enough for the basics. I wonder why they implemented both -N and -n as that seems confusing… :pensive:

I don’t know but i assume -Na means all?

-a is (AFAIK) relatively new and is equivalent to -xxx (e.g. my fairly typical -Fxxxz can now be shortened to -Faz).

I use -Fxxxz because it colors the output. Not sure about -Faz
Edit: Yes it does. Bonus!

@Bobcapp
Welll … how did you make out installing the offline version?

You can try to disable the Power Management (saving) feature from windows and Bios (like PCIe power management, power on by pci, intel pxe, wakeonlan), then reboot and try again
