No ethernet connection usb live install

@Bobcapp
Just wondering how you made out installing the offline version?

Hey Rick Still working on it. Offline didn’t work; still wants that Intel ethernet driver.

What is the model of your motherboard (Gigabyte)?

z87x-oc

Have you checked in the UEFI Bios under submenu to make sure it’s enabled?

Intel(R) Ethernet Network Connection i217V

@Bobcapp It seems this iissue is also affected on the z97 board and others with the same NIC card.
Some have reported that going to Windows and turning off all the power management features of the NIC card and then it works when booting into Linux. The problem seems to be that if the NIC is in a certain state and is powered off or shutdown it won’t initialize it on boot. I can’t confirm that but just what i have read.

Edit: If you are not dual booting then I would look at the NIC settings in the Bios. Other than that the only thing i know is there is a package in the AUR e1000e-dkms but not sure how you can get it installed.

Rick, Not sure where to look. I can get into UEFI DualBios, but not sure about which submenu. I see M.I.T, System, Bios Features, Peripherals and Power Management. These are all under windows mode. Do you mean Onboard Lan Boot Option Control under Bios Features in classic mode?

Do you have Windows on this computer too?

nope

I really think you need the e1000e-dkms package from the AUR but i’m not sure how to install it unless you can somehow download it and then build it to use on the offline install to get the ethernet working.
