Neofetch is no more

I made my own a while back using pfetch and ufetch as guides. I named it enos :smirk:

Planning to do something similar as coding practice. So far, I only managed to get the distro name out of /usr/lib/os-release

You’re too fast man!

You may want to blank out your local IP.

uh oh

We all start somewhere

this is the last one i did. I did one similar to neofetch years ago however i learned then that it was to much for a bash file really. I mean yeah its nice but not the best way to program for all the information being displayed. Much better languages for writing these kinds of things that are less taxing on the system. So I went back to KISS.

When I want to install crabfetch, I am asked whether I want to install rust or only rustup. Since I have nothing else to do with rust, would rustup be the right choice?

Install rust.

Rustup is for developers (it is used to install / manage multiple versions of Rust toolchain)

Why would it matter if anyone knows what your local IP address is? That’s the non-routable IP.

I just checked, at the moment mine is 192.168.0.66. Also, if anyone would like to know, my Tailscale IP address is 100.96.157.42. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The IP for my services inside my VPN are in fact served by a public DNS

I initially set up a private DNS for that, but later I realised there’s no point hiding the IP since nobody can even ping those private IPs.

Yeah though, never making my IPv6 public.

Fork yes!

(Please don’t ban me, it’s supposed to be funny)

Great to hear the world of “kvetch” will continue to be broadly supported. But frankly, having been turned on to fastfetch in the interim, I now find that I prefer it to neofetch.

Will stick with this as my newly found Screen 1 for the foreseeable future.

That article didn’t mention the hottest, best fetch, cowfetch. @joekamprad found this for me when I casually thought out loud about a silly fetch. This would look great on /r/unixporn.
