Neofetch is no more

The github reporitory for the project was archived last week by its lead developer and is now read-only. This is a sure sign that development has ceased.
There is always simply inxi -F without logo but more usefull system information or fastfetch, hyfetch or whatever

That’s the good thing about having choices on Linux also a little note to any one who reads the article this part here

Just keep in mind that when you post your Fastfetch screenshots on the internet, your local IP address will also be revealed.

That you can easily edit the information that shows and you don’t need another tool to censor the information.

Exactly that. You should always be aware of what you share and in which forum. I like fastfetch because it’s highly configurable

That and it does load slighlty faster

Not gonna lie, a bit of a sad moment, but if the dev is no longer interested in maintaining the project, fair enough, really.

Fastfetch took on my side 80ms and hyfetch 852ms. A huge difference

There are always people who give up their project for whatever reason. This makes it all the nicer in the Foss world to have new developers who take on a project or drive something completely new forward

Fastfetch loads pretty much instantly on my machine, once the terminal is open its ready to go, been ages now since I used neofetch but I remember waiting around a second for it to open.

Self promo moment:

Crabfetch : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/crabfetch

Maybe I should now start adding features to it :joy:

Installing it now.

Perhaps I should try to make something like this too, only so I can do some code practice.

This is sad. Neofetch is one of the first things I install on a new system/vm.

Same here. I have been using fastfetch for some time now. It is incredibly fast…really fast…really, really fast

pfetch works for me… I’m sure you are thrilled to know that.
