What’s the current thinking on this?
A) Can be run relatively easily through WINE or Steam or Lutris by following these steps
B) Might run, but at great cost to one’s time and mental health
C) It doesn’t run under Linux, no way no how – we have already lost too many unfortunates to that cause – give up now, bro, I beg of you
Hard to say without trying, there’s no much info on protondb / winedb…
However, generally speaking the only thing that wine may have problem with - is anti-cheat system, looks like that game has some of it’s own.
I take it it’s standalone .exe, so it’s not on Steam right?
Rating here is between garbage and platinum on some russian free 2 play server…so i guess it’s at least possible 
But that was tested ages ago.
Since 2018 this game uses gameguard, so it is unlikely to work with wine ever again.
Also that comments about their anti-cheat…i guess doesn’t sound too good.
Yeah, it’s not on Steam and unfortunately also not on any of the cloud-gaming platforms (although they tested those waters for a few months in 2020 or so).
I haven’t seen anything recent that might inspire hope on the B&S forum.
OK, so maybe Microsoft knows I play B&S and can sell that info to Putin and Xi (and the NSA).

See at least before anti-cheat it was definitely doable!

BTW, it’s almost time for my pills and eyedrops – so maybe I should put the gamer guide off for a little while until the unmutual clouds have been cleared from my mind.
Yeah…well but by quick review of that test script, it looks like almost identical to other script that says:

but doing it inside x32 prefix…So i still doubt it will work 
It’s okay. TBH, I know how I am, and I might tire of this game by next weekend.
From my own searches it’s not clear whether they are still using that GameGuard or not. If so, maybe wine-tkg with some crypto patches might help, but I haven’t tried that yet.
Please don’t put any more time and effort into this. There are some crappy people on this forum who like to cry “troll” while being trolls themselves.
I tried using a third-party launcher with Wine to install the game since NClauncher will freeze up and it also disables the anti-cheat. I got it installed but it still wouldn’t launch. Maybe need some custom launch parameters or environment variables, I am not sure since I am not that technical.
