Microsoft Ruins Windows with Co Pilot, LG TV Hold My Beer

If you came to Linux to get away from Co Pilot I hope you don’t own an LG TV.

And Samsung is on it as well.

Not that long ago, I remember when I first heard the name ‘Bill Gates’
But yeah, I’m not at all surprised as they jump on the bandwagon (lg and samsung)

I would say we need a Linux TV, but then I just use my PC anymore…probably haven’t turned on the TV more than 3 times in a year. Don’t need a TV any more than I need a land line phone.

I like LG but this will make me not buy one or any other brand that has this period!

Hopefully Microsoft will leave my Sony alone. It has Android built in but I opted for a Roku long ago, works much better for my needs most of the time and easier for me to navigate

All of them will be A.I infused within 5 years. Big Tech and Government’s need A.I to be successful because they’ve sunk so much money into it.

My TV is great but a few years old now so hopefully it will be left behind, but yes, if it ever breaks, the next one will have AI garbage installed as part of the stock OS surely, hooray…

Most things I watch on my PC. Maybe once a month a movie comes out that I know I will enjoy more on the big screen. My biggest pet peeve with the TV really is the modem from Xfinity which is suppose to have a router built into it. I know it doesn’t cause if the internet is down I should still should be able to watch content from my PC on the TV through the modem, but nope not the case.

their sneaky BS goes waaaaay back with smart tvs.

I consider all smart devices compromised before you get it out of the store. The AI will just streamline it

I’m sure they will have the A.I infused into theirs soon enough.

I have a Samsung ‘smart’ TV — but it cannot perform any of its ‘smart’ functions because I won’t give it an IP address. I sometimes hit the wrong button and it goes into a setup mode, but I back out of that right away. The TV is allowed to function as a monitor and nothing more.

It may be time to block my TV from the internet in my firewall. I haven’t done it previously because I wanted the firmware and application updates. I will have to think about how to manage that. On the other hand, I don’t use the apps on the TV so I am not sure how much data the TV could really be collecting.

Good thing my Samsung TV’s are disconnected from the network. Completely.

That´s Microsoft…

I think most manufacturers provides Firmware to put on a USB and install that way.

It’s just a pain to look for them. :downcast_face_with_sweat:

When and if you find it Save the link! And hope thy don’t change the link to it.

And yeah blocking THE “SMART” TV would be smart today it’s just Spyware.

I would say they get more information from the microphones they put in the TV then they do apps to begin with. I got my “Smart” TV in the closet unplugged.

I have my LG only plugged when I do an update. Once in a half year. After that, I unplug it immediately.
