My TV doesn’t have a camera. There is a mic in the remote but I don’t use the remote and it doesn’t have batteries. That being said, I am not sure they are actually uploading ambient audio from the mic.
Most speech recognition is done though 3rd party clouds 
They advertise things you were just talking about minutes after you talk about it. Amazon uses it to Awaken Alexa. As more and more companies invest in A.I I have a feeling that information will become more valuable. Having an A.I customized to YOUR BUYING NEEDS yeah I would say they are getting every bit of data from every source they can.
I blocked my SmartTV (Xiaomi-something) n my router. Y ou can access it through intern network, but no connection into the wild. I did that after a first setup, and a second time after a firmware update. The new UI is not nice, the tv always wants me to start VideoOnDemand Services, and I truly wish it brakes down in the nearer future. No more tv with that OS.
I own a LG C4 2024 model, have all AI settings disabled and using an Android streaming box (Buzztv) for watching the TV. I removed the LG channels after I bought it. I haven’t seen the Co Pilot app but haven’t looked for it either, and have a HDTV antenna for local channels.
Auto updates are turned off but it’s not connected to my network anyway.
Is this “Delete” like Microsofts “Disable” ?
I don’t know …. It just say’s they will allow the customer to delete the shortcut. 
Edit: LG has gotten a lot of flack over this. I don’t think they want to lose sales over it! I myself like LG but I do not like Co-Pilot! At all!
deleting the shortcut but they are not deleting the app so it will still be there it will just not be a shortcut to go straight to it however it will still be running and in use during normal TV play so really they are not doing anything but removing it from “Sight” Unless they allow me to REMOVE the app I would never buy another one.
The idea behind the Copilot shortcut was, reportedly, to launch it in the web browser on LG TVs, instead of as a native smart TV app.
Ya I don’t know without actually seeing it in action.
If you want to dig into this, - install a PiHole on your network, - can either be classically on a RPi, or as a docker container on a NAS or Server. It’s eye-opening..

I’m an LG user - and after this Christmas stuff, I’ll be doing a factory reset, all networking will be through my new bananapi router and my tv will have no internet connectivity at all and all apps through an intel nuc8 via web browser as I do on my normal computer. Behind pihole, on openwrt and vpn. I hate the world of computers in 2025
