But, this time I have a fresh new installation of EOS, and I really don’t understand why this happens.
Many times the machine does not shutdown when I ask it to do that. So, in these moments I have to “force” the shutdown, pressing the power button for a couple of seconds.
Well, I started simply rebooting the computer sometimes when I want to shutdown. So it does the reboot proccess correctly and I ask it to shutdown when it enters the DE: now I choose to shutdown and it does that correctly.
Do you guys have some idea about what could cause this and/or how to troubleshoot it, please?
Try to type sudo shutdown now in terminal and see if this consistently responds. If it does, then it may be an issue with your Gnome DE. Also, please include log files for us to analyze so we can be of most use. You can acquaint yourself with that process by reviewing this
I get to shutdown for a couple of days through terminal, using sudo shutdown now. It worked for some time.
But now, even doing that the machine does not shutdown sometimes, and I have to force it through the power button.
Sometimes, moreover, when I turn it on, it somewhat stuck when the DE (Gnome) presents the login form. Here I enter my password and only a dark screen is presented. I can move the mouse cursor here, but nothing more.
Below you can find logs and info.
I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance.
