Sorry about all the trouble I caused… I think the problem was my wireless mouse. Looking through the logs, it said my mouse batteries were at 15% and I unplugged the receiver and reinserted, and replaced the batteries. Now mouse charge is at 90% and all seems to work a lot better. I also rebooted into Nvidia mode and that is working OK now too
And I never would have guessed that a low mouse battery would result in being able to interact with just some gui elements and not others
Thanks for all your help today. So sorry again… I feel a bit silly…
that’s all no issue at all the thing is to resolve the issue and @ricklinux was finding cause for your issue that’s the goal.. And in addition we find out about this issue with software rendering.
I am not sure if its not simply false output with inxi, i will investigate more on that.
I am also using the Nvidia driver now too, now that I rebooted with the second boot option for Nvidia. I didn’t choose that option originally because my GPU is older and not one that runs on the open drivers but on the proprietary ones
installer is properly install the one your GPU supports by hardware detection.
On testing when we implemented the new option it was not showing software rendering .. i only saw it on my PC in the last tests but as i wrote i have 2 dedicated GPU cards installed and was not thinking this will even be the case if you have a igpu. And no one had any issues with the installer on Nvidia too.
