Live no internet unable to install

When I boot from a USB drive flashed with the 2021-08-27 ISO, I have no network connection at all and most commands (even ones that should run without an internet connection) seem to hang forever - CTRL^C does not work. When I try to shutdown the system, the OS hangs for several minutes while trying to stop services so I just resorted to holding the power button.

Something seems to be wrong with the new ISO that causes this to happen. Any ideas what it might be?

And as this is a troublesome realtek nic … i see users having issues like this it helps to do the following: sudo su sed -i /usr/lib/modprobe.d/r8168.conf -e 's|r8169|r8168|' rmmod r8169 modprobe r8169 Seems that it is try using the blacklisted r8169 module but then fails on that because it is blacklisted. reference:
