I really like it. I used to use Linux Mint, and I came across this operating system on another forum.

Thanks! That’s exactly one of the many things I’m loving about Linux, is there’s something for everyone. This seems like the right next step for me as I love living in the terminal and want to further expand my knowledge on how the system works.

Ah, I remember my college’s installfest. It consisted of my peers playfully opening up a random distro’s website on my laptop every time I left it open and unattended until one summer I eventually decided to say “Fine I’ll dual boot.”
Could it be considered peer pressure? Maybe, but Linux peer pressure is definitely better than the other kinds.
Glad you ended up here! Have you tried many other distros before this one? And how are you liking it so far?
Oh yeah! My first would have been Linux Mint, but on the laptop I had at the time it had some really weird graphical glitches. I went with Manjaro instead (despise it now, gave me so many issues). Did that for a couple years before jumping to straight up Arch. I think I had some sort of odd issue that I couldn’t fix myself / I liked not having to tinker sometimes so I jumped to this when I built my first PC a couple of years ago.
I did use Ubuntu, Debian, and a couple of other distributions in between those on other machines at University, but I’ve always liked the Arch based distros for my personal machines. My home server actually runs Arch too which has had its challenges, but it is a fun project to constantly work on and add things to.
I have images of some guy hanging around a darkened alley in a trench coat, “pssst.!! Over here! opens trench coat, the inner lining adorned with CDs I’ve got the latest Ubuntu, Fedora.. whispers Kali’s extra..”
That sounds like fun, running an Arch server. I’ll be honest though I don’t know very much about servers yet. I’ve just started learning about networking in the last week or so. But I think it’s something I’m going to end up getting into. I wanna be able to do a lot of experimenting, so I can see myself with with a small home lab down the road. To be fair I’ve only been using Linux since the start of this year, and didn’t know anything when I started. But once I got into it, I was hooked. Wish I’d have started all this 10 years ago honestly, but hey I’m here now!
