Hello, I am very new to Linux. I just installed mint about 3 months ago after a lifetime on Windows. In that time I’ve been busy learning the command line and how Linux works as a whole. I went from knowing literally nothing about computers to being more than at home in the terminal. I do almost everything there, from file management to updates. I’ve even started to learn bash scripting. Mint was the perfect step to get me away from windows and on a system that seems happy to let me learn it. But now I want a system that won’t coddle me. I aim to eventually run vanilla Arch, but didn’t feel comfortable jumping into it straight away. I know enough to know that I hardly know anything at all, but I want to learn. I started this whole learning Linux project kind of on a whim just because I couldn’t get my desktop upgraded to Windows 11, but once I got started I discovered I have a real passion for all of this stuff. I find the kernel absolutely fascinating. The way it does a billion things in less than a second when it first boots, to the way it manages processes, drives, and memory, and keeps things running smoothly. I’m interested in EndeavorOS because I’ve read that it’s terminal oriented, but with a more user friendly install than that of Arch, and that it’s a good way to further learning the system. I’m really excited to be here and look forward to being part of this community. Thanks everyone for your time and for having me here.
