Truthfully, Iâm thankful such big packages as a DE gets a bit of testingâŠthough you could say thatâs what the pre-release testing should be for lol.

Huh, I rebooted and my eyes told me that things were bigger (scale I was thinking) or maybe my res had been reset. Guess Iâm just getting old, because everything is the same display wise (apparently). My windows still fit where they belong, dunno why my gut was so wrong.

I always have to tinker with sddm after major Plasma releases to get it to recognize the new wallpaper and cursor style / size to be consistent with the rest of the vanilla Breeze theming. Nice if it worked out of the box, but after an hour of Googling and playing with config files all is back to normal 
Must have rolled into a pothole, and needed a push.

As smooth as silk (as ever), Iâm genuinely in awe of how good Plasma is these days. I run at 1.25 scaling, but honestly I canât tell the difference other than everything just works. Looking forward to seeing whatâs under the hood!

Ya ⊠and yet so many just donât get it.

I just updated to Plasma 6.3 and noticed that my widgets are now darker than every other element, especially the panel. The current Plasma style is WhiteSur-Dark. However, it seems to be the same for every transparent style I try; the widgets are noticeably darker than the panel. It wasnât this way before. This is on a Surface Pro 8 with an Intel iGPU. Is anyone else having this issue?

And what exactly did you do? First I just specified the path of the background image again /usr/share/wallpapers/Next/contents/images/, but Iâm sure thereâs a better way.
The Plasma 6.3 update broke my X11 session 
(seems Iâm not the only one)
On logging in, I got a black screen with no panel (start bar), wallpapers not loading (hence black screen) and connection notifications popping up out of nowhere on the opposite side of the screen. CTRL+ALT+Del got me the ability to log-out and log-in with a Wayland session.
I was able to confirm itâs config specific, because creating a new user account I was able to log in to working X11 session. To fix it, I renamed kde and plasma related files and folders within ~/.config/, forcing those things to be created fresh next login. Itâs likely a specific setting in there, but I didnât feel inclined to spend time pinpointing that.
Iâd love to ditch X11 once and for all, but on my main workstation with a Nvidia A4000 GPU and two displays with different resolution and refresh rate, Iâve always had weird sizing, scaling and rendering issues with Wayland. Now before the regulars feel tempted to say Wayland works fine for them, on the three other systems I use it on (2x Nvidia GPU, 1x AMD GPU), it does work fine. It seems to be something specific to this combination.
I think thatâs exactly what I did. I copied the path from the wallpaper folder and chose the file sized closest to my screen resolution.
Iâll forget again what I did when Plasma 6.4 comes out and will have to figure out how to fix again and hold out hope that the KDE folks upstream resolve this issue someday.
