Kde Plasma 6.3 is now out!

The only problem is that once you have assigned the SDDM wallpaper in this way, you can no longer go back to the default state. Deleting the image only results in a light blue area.

Didn’t see the update but it’s there  See no issues either. Whew!

After update to Plasma 6.3 and reboot i got a black screen with a line( - ) and my cursor.
I had to reboot system again after that I got in after login and no problem… Wierd
Wayland session BTW.

The scale on my laptop was reset on the previous big update, so it’s not just you.

Updated yesterday.
All’s well.

Things are boringly stable at the moment

See if you can reproduce it and then file a bug report. I haven’t experienced that issue at all on either the beta or final release…

As noted by the KDE developers, the X11 session in KDE Plasma is a legacy feature that is maybe one-step removed from abandonware. All development/testing is done on Wayland and X11 is an afterthought (if even). If not having a stable and reliable X11 session is deal breaker, I’d switch to an LTS distro until the issues preventing you from using Wayland get ironed out.

Just took a look at the WhiteSur-Dark theme, That may be my favorite Plasma theme so far

I’m going to use X11 session on KDE Plasma as long as I can. When it will become abandonware I move to use WM’s like openbox. If Wayland is going to be usable and stable at some point I might start using it. At the moment I see no reason to do so.

What’s preventing you from switching? I have been daily-driving Wayland since 5.27 without issue.

Nothing big actually. Just few little annoyances with themes, sddm etc. I also like to use plank as a dock which is not possible with wayland.

I don’t know I have gotten this every now and then after Plasma update or kernel update but it seems rare.

And BTW I run Wayland without any issues.

I’m glad you like it! You should also install the corresponding Kvantum theme to go with it and set your Application Style to ā€œkvantum.ā€

Are you desktop widgets darker than your panel when using the theme?

I did grab the Kvantum theme as well. I like how it adapts nicely to changing desktop wallpapers.
